How the Fire-Fly Lost It's Fear
7th grade children's book.
When the world first began there were many animals, both big and small. The creatures were spread all over the world, and all of them were brave and strong, except for one little fly living on the banks of the a river named Aither. Aither had a problem; he was afraid of the dark. He would be grumpy with his fiery temper all day, but at night he would quiver in the dark, afraid of the dark and gloomy things lurking around him. This continued for weeks, and his lack of sleep was causing Aither to be incredibly mean to all the other animals. His quick temper earned him the nickname Firefly with the other animals, and caused many to avoid him, as they feared that they would become the victim of his rage.
After another long night without any sleep, Aither was in an extremely bad mood, and wanted everyone else to feel as badly as he did. He flew about, looking for someone to pick on, when he noticed a butterfly lost in thought nearby; that’s when he got his brilliantly evil idea.
Aither quickly flew back to his home, and got a bucket full of orange paint, and then he flew back to where he had seen the butterfly moments before. As he neared the beautiful creature, and turned the bucket upside down as he flew over. This left the butterfly completely orange. Thinking that he was funny, Aither flew off to go create more mischief.
But little did he know just whom he had poured all the paint on. All the animals knew that the gods came down to check on them, and took the form of common living things when they did so. The butterfly that had been at the receiving end of Aither’s cruel joke was Joe, the all-powerful god of fire.
Joe was not at all pleased with what had happened, and decided that he needed to come up with something to teach the young firefly a lesson that he would never forget.
In the mean time, Aither had buried a cricket under the dirt, attacked a bunch of ladybugs, and ruined a spider’s web. This direct destruction of nature bothered all the gods greatly, and caused Joe to bring his idea for punishment forward to the other gods.
They sat in wonder as they heard his careful plan, which would not only make Aither realize his mistakes, but could also make him friendlier. Joe’s idea was sure to work; they just needed to put it into action.
Joe snuck down to the plot of land near where Aither spent his nights, disguising himself as an elderly caterpillar. Quietly, munching on a leaf, he watched the timid and mischievous firefly look out at the world around him with a gloomy view. Aither was quivering, afraid of everything around him. He was sure that something would kill him if he went to sleep, and he began to think nasty thoughts about all the other creatures.
That’s when it happened; a little flicker came from Aither’s rear, and a yelp escaped his mouth. Joe grinned as widely as a caterpillar can as he saw that it was working. Every time Aither thought a mean or nasty thought, he would get a mild zap to his body, and he would light up. Proud of his handiwork, the proud god disappeared back to his home as the small firefly went berserk.
It only took Aither a few moments to comprehend what had happened, and realize how bad his attitude had really been. He noticed how useful his new light was, as it allowed him to see things at night. Aither wanted to find a way to keep his light without keeping his terrible thoughts. He knew that he would need to go see the gods, and decided to do so first thing in the morning. For the first time, Aither peacefully drifted off to sleep.
Come morning, the small firefly felt that his wings could not carry him fast enough as he flew towards the ziggurat where gods were known to congregate. He headed towards one sitting next to a bowl of fire and bravely flew up towards his face.
“Are you the one responsible for my light?” He asked hopefully, catching Joe off guard.
“Yes, I am Aither. Why do you ask?” The large god questioned as he looked at the petite bug.
“I’ve learned my lesson about being cruel, and I was hopeful that I could keep my light, so that others can see at night when they travel.” He replied slowly.
The god only nodded, not moving a hand as he granted Aither’s wish. “You will light up when the sun sets, to show other animals the way, and you will stop when the sun rises once more.”
Aither flew off into the day, never to do a mean deed again. His bright light was a safe haven to traveling beings.
Fireflies light up at night because of Aither and the way that Joe made him lose his fear.

Phew. Well thats that over. Mad innit? All these years that all we've worked for? Those dreaded GCSE's that'll 'be here in next to no time' and you'll 'wonder where all the time went'. And they're over. Just like that.
Crazy.
I was so scared when I went to pick them up. I'd already apologized to mum for fucking up.
I just picked them up off of Mr Gilchrist, handed them to mum and walked out. Wasn't fun.
Kirsty rang me saying mum was looking for me lol. Then she gave me a huge hug and was like 'Ahhhh you did it, I'm so proud' lalala.
They weren't the greatest results in the world, but this is me. Lol! What do you people expect?!

and 1 D.
Which for me, I think is pretty darn good considering I didn't think I'd be getting back in.
Ahh woo. Oh dear anyways...
That bloody bobble headed geek. What 7 years old? Getting a B on the I.T exam. His head was FAR too big for his body.. bobble head....I'm not bitter.. :P

Seeing as no one else is bothering, I'm gonna update. I have fuck all to say, but screw it I'm gonna do it anyways.
Ok. So summer holidays suck.
They really do. All I've been doing is shit loads of cleaning! Talk about fun *rolls eyes*.
Found out I can get an actual job :D which is great so mum won't have to pay me so much for cleaning and stuff, I'd be able to use my own money so she'd be better off. Wanna get contacts 'cause I can't see ANYTHING anymore. I don't bother looking at tv screens 'cause I just can't see them. And yeah I know, 'wear your glasses'but with the money I'd get from a job and my EMA money when I go back *crosses fingers*, I'd be able to pay my phone bill and lens bills which'd save Mum loads. I'd start saving for driving lessons and a car and that and probably Chicago aswell. Thats all looking promising now. Jenny's showed me her dress which is STUNNING (12 foot train! lol) and the bridesmaid dresses which are just beautiful. Even though I'm 'best woman' or whatever, I'll still be in a bridesmaid dress which is cool. :D I'm pretty excited, hoping it all goes to plan though. I've never been to a wedding, let alone been a bridesmaid. I was meant to be one at the hobbit and slag's wedding (stephen and lisa for the rest of ya ;).) but hey lol.
Anyway that should be pretty cool having somethng to do! :D
Neil and Nicki are asking in Boots for me. I know yeah the uniform is pretty sucky but still its money and something to do! Which is cool. Should do alright *fingers crossed* 'cause Neil and Nicki both work in there and Neil's the manager of the optician department. The actual manager is my godmother's cousin so maybe pull a few strings ;) lol.
Either that or try John Lewis, Nick's in there so maybe she could give us a hand. FUCKING POP UPS! If not Tony's in Virgin so I'd try there. Or Chris said he could get me in Next either Bluewater or Crayford. Which is cool. Either that or I'll just drop a few CV's and application forms about and see what happens.
He's on holiday at the moment (Chris). He went yesterday, for Laura's birthday lol, to Turkey which is nice for them.
It really doesn't feel like I've been on holiday, it sucks so bad! I did enjoy it, but it was over so quick but seemed like I was there forever. When I think about it, going to the water park. When we arrived and got dropped off and everything like that, it seems like forever ago but also like I was there forever.
I love it there! Like really love it. Me and Mum decided we prefer the Bora Bora to the one we stayed at this year. It was nice being with Dan, Em and Kyle. It was nice to spend some time with Dan. I see Gary all the time obviously, Chris comes in pretty regularly, but Dan's always been the one I got on best with. Yeah that changed a bit when Gary moved in and all this shit happened, but Dan was always the one who took me out and stuff. It was nice to have that again. We just messed about so much, with the BB guns lol. And when he tripped me up lol. That was just CLASSIC! We were walking along this seriously awesome grass (Yeah ok I know, How can grass be awesome? Well it can. It was really spongy and carpet like. It was cool! Really..) but anyway after we'd been out Dan sidled up next to me and said "Hey Kim. You like that grass?" Thinking he was being all nice and brotherly making conversation I began to answer but he slipped his leg under me and I was talking to grass.. It was really funny!
OH MY GOD ! Kyle on the cactus. I have NEVER seen anything so funny in all my life!! He sat on a cactus. Oh God! His face was such a picture. He looked so shocked and horrified! Aw Bless him! LOL! *laughs to self* Oh I did enjoy myself. Lol.
Matts meant to be coming over soon. End of August I think it was. I'll have to ring Aunty Wyn and ask so we can sort out meeting up. I feel bad 'cause I never replied to that text he sent, FUCKING POP UPS! but hey. That'll be cool!
What else. Yeah. Grandad's not well. Spent today cleaning his house so Mum can have a break on Thursday. He had to go to the hospital and get the results of his test back. He has emphysemia and severe liver disease.
:( I love my Grandad so much. I was thinking about it earlier, as I was cleaning. He really means the world to me. I don't know what I'd do without him. Between him and the boys, I've had pretty good male figures in my life. No thanks to certain cunts. They said it will eventually be the death of him, but not necessarily in the near future. They said it could be the next few years or it could be in 20. They don't know but it will be what he will die from. But we all have to die of something don't we. He's agreed to sell his house and move down here, which'll be great. Mum will be able to pop in every day and give him meals and stuff so we can keep a close eye on him and that can't be bad.
What else. I think thats it really. I'm bored out of my skull! Seriously. I'm cleaning to relieve boredom! Ok so I get paid for it but still I do it out the kindness of my heart goddamn it! Top Cats on on Thursday ;) BBC2 12:35 HA! Highlight of the week! Tom's birthday as well then! :| Missing him aswell :( still, 8 days? Yeah.
Shit! Exam results soon. Forgot about them.. Bollocks. Hey fuck all I can do now ehe.
Should go really its late and I have cleaning to do in the morning. Suprise suprise.. Then Grandad's lawn to mow after while Mum goes shopping. The Thursday should be good. Hopefully Mum'll get a break! Poor cow. She's looking so run down and worn out lately its horrible.
Anyways yeah. Bedtime I think. Guess I did have something to say afterall.... xx
